While out for a morning walk with Ella, under a very grey sky, I spotted a little white under a tree in front of a nearby church. And then I FREAKED.
Spring! Spring is coming! There are new tulip and daffodil shoots in my garden. There are new leaves on my angel trumpet plant, which has been sleeping down the basement over the winter. My Bougainvillea has been blooming beside the window!
It's coming, and nothing can stop it now!
And Spring arose on the garden fair,
Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;
And each flower and herb on Earth's dark breast
rose from the dreams of its wintry rest.
—Percy Bysshe Shelley
EVERYDAY is a tiara day,darling!
ReplyDeleteThat last post is phenomenal (took me a while to spell that!)And brillant! I haven't even got a child, and I laugh hollowly when preggers friends go "o,it'll be so lovely"....!!!

well good for you Helga--you ROCK that tiara, girlfriend. Thanks for your kind words, and you're right: that's what I think too when I see brand new mommies-to-be.
Deleteisn't spring delicious to the soul? we skipped winter here this year altogether, which is probably why we're getting the tornados now. but seeing our trees popping out in full bloom makes me smile every time i look out the window.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Sherilin, I remember a few weeks ago when you commented on daffodils coming up! You haven't seen any tornadoes yourself, have you???
Deletethe weather has been unseasonably warm and wet the last 6 weeks. It looks like may instead on march in terms of flowers and stuff.
ReplyDeletelovely pictures
yeah, and everyone who said LA NINA was going to SUCK, can SUCK IT! Well, it's freezing cold here today, but still--SUCK IT! Not you, Lance.
DeleteI wish that we had spring. :( We go from summer, to a little chilly back to summer. You may see this as complaining, but I do miss the winter sometimes. :)
ReplyDeleteEven if I saw it as complaining, I would never mind. Complaining, bitching, griping, lamenting--all welcome here! Hooray!
DeleteIf I miss anything about the winter we usually have but didn't, it's the sunny days that come with February--and all the heaps of white snow. It's been grey, grey, grey, and more grey.
I thought you lived in CANADA?!
ReplyDeleteno worries, dbs, it's frigid out today.
DeleteAh, Karen's romantic poet's soul has popped out with the Spring flowers! xxxxx
ReplyDeletetrue! It's in there...deep, deep in there, but it's there.
